Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame & Nomination Process
The Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame recognizes Bishop Gallagher alumni, coaches, teachers and others that have made outstanding contributions to Bishop Gallagher High School in their high school or collegiate careers, or to their community.
Through 2025, 86 individuals have been elected to the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame. These include 59 athletes, 17 coaches and 9 individuals who are recognized for their distinguished service. This includes male and female athletes from 8 different sports. The names of the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame and their Hall-of-Fame bios are available here.
Members of the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame have met our Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame Criteria. These criteria measure the contributions made by these members. The criteria are listed below for your review. New members are elected by the BGFA Steering Committee annually. New members are inducted into the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame at our Annual Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame Banquet.
Beginning in 2026, the BGFA is opening the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame Nomination Process to anyone who would like to nominate an individual for election to the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame. Nominees will be vetted against the Hall-of-Fame Criteria and elected by the BGFA Steering Committee. Elected individuals will be inducted at the 2026 Hall-of-Fame Banquet.
To nominate someone for consideration for election to the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame, please fill out the Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame Nomination Form found here. Please fill out the form as completely as possible, Several of the elements on the form must be filled in by the person making the nomination. The BGFA Steering Committee will inform you about its decision on your nominee once it has been made.
Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame Election Criteria
Lancers Forever Hall-of-Fame members are elected into one of three categories, athletes, coaches or distinguished service.
ATHLETES
Bishop Gallagher graduate.
A standout in their high school sport as exemplified by All-Catholic, All-State, or other Honors
Exhibited leadership on or off the field – team captain, etc.
It is desirable that the athlete has played at the college level and/or professional level. “Gave-back” to Bishop Gallagher or their community, faith, etc. and has had post-athletic life success.
COACHES
Head Varsity coach in a single sport for a minimum of 5 years. Or,
Combination of Head Coach, Assistant Coach (including JV/Freshman) or multiple sports for a minimum of 10 years or seasons. Or,
Combination of Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Athletic Director for a minimum of 8 years.
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE or LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT – The Matt Simoncini Award
Administrators, special boosters, team assistants, others that made a significant contribution to Bishop Gallagher.
The person or service should be extraordinary, exemplary, and exceptional.
